A native of Spokane, Deacon Allen Peterson spent much of his life living in Woodinville, WA. While there, he worked for 26 years in aircraft certification at Boeing. He and his wife, Linda, raised their four children there.
After retiring, Allen and Linda returned to Spokane to be closer to his birthplace and better fishing. Allen was ordained deacon in the Diocese of Spokane in August 2012. He first served as deacon at St. Charles Parish, Spokane and is now assigned to St. Augustine Parish. Allen is active in prison ministry at Airway Heights Department of Corrections and has been part of RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) programs helping introduce others to the Catholic faith.
Allen is an avid fly fisherman and enjoys the solitude afforded by fly-fishing in streams and remote areas of the Pacific Northwest. You can often find him at Swede’s Fly Shop in Spokane, where he is the owner.
